Our Story

The Studio

Jack Bates Photography was founded in Jupiter, Florida by Jack Bates — a photographer, filmmaker, and creative obsessive who grew up on the water, in the light, and around the landscapes that make South Florida one of the most beautiful places in the world to get married.

Jack's family has been part of this community for four generations. His great-grandfather was Tequesta's first police chief. His grandmother was the main tour guide at the Jupiter Lighthouse. The backdrops you see in our work aren't just locations — they're places Jack has known his entire life.

After more than 15 years behind the camera and hundreds of weddings across Palm Beach County, Jack made a decision: instead of being the only one who could deliver this work, he would build a team that could.

Today, Jack serves as the creative director of the studio. He personally selects, trains, and mentors every artist on the team. He sets the creative standard. He reviews the work. And he ensures that every couple who books with us receives the same level of artistry, intentionality, and care that built this studio's reputation.

This isn't a franchise. It's a small, curated team of artists who see the world the way Jack does — through light, composition, and the belief that your wedding deserves images that will still take your breath away in 30 years.

Grew up climbing the 105 steps of the Jupiter Lighthouse. This town is in my blood. Four generations deep.
